Closest Call

Acceptable Use Policy

Effective October 4, 2026

Closest Call is meant to be a fair, friendly game. This policy explains what you may not do when you play. It is part of the Terms of Use. By claiming a handle or playing, you agree to follow it.

1. Play fair

You may not:

  • Work with other players to gain an unfair advantage. This includes sharing your Mark during a hand, agreeing not to bet against each other, or ganging up on another player.
  • Lose chips on purpose to pass them to another handle.
  • Use more than one handle to collect extra free chips, to sit at the same table or tournament more than once, or to improve a leaderboard position.
  • Use bots, scripts, macros or any other automation to play, to claim free chips, or to register for tournaments.
  • Use any tool that reads, changes or interferes with the game or its messages to gain an advantage.
  • Deliberately use a bug or mistake in the game for gain. If you find one, please report it to us instead.

2. Keep chips inside the game

You may not buy, sell, trade or offer chips, handles, passwords or recovery codes for money or anything else of real-world value, and you may not use the game for real-money betting of any kind, including side bets made outside the game.

3. Handles

Your handle is visible to every player. A handle may not:

  • Contain hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, threatening or otherwise offensive language.
  • Pretend to be another person, another player, or a member of the Closest Call staff, such as an administrator, moderator or the house.
  • Reveal private information about another person.
  • Advertise a product, service or website.

4. Do not harm the service

You may not:

  • Attack, overload or disrupt the game or the systems it runs on.
  • Try to access another player's handle, or data you are not meant to see, including other players' hidden Marks.
  • Probe, scan or test the game for weaknesses without our written permission.
  • Collect data from the game in bulk using automated tools.
  • Copy, modify or redistribute the game, or get around any limit we place on it.

5. Follow the law

You may not use the game if you are under 18, if playing is not legal where you live, or for any unlawful purpose.

6. What happens if you break this policy

We may take any action we think is appropriate, with or without notice. This includes removing chips, winnings or leaderboard results, changing or removing your handle, removing you from a table or tournament, and suspending or permanently blocking your access.

7. Reporting a problem

To report cheating, an offensive handle, a bug or a security concern, write to support@playclosestcall.com. Include the handle involved and, if you can, the link to the hand.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page, and continuing to play means you accept it.
